Undersea Explorer Adventure Diving and Research Expeditions is a liveaboard scuba diving operation and has pioneered an innovative concept which enhances and compliments tourism whilst supporting marine research and education. This concept is achieved by: •Providing exciting year round adventure diving expeditions to the traveller •Employing marine biologists to conduct research and education programs •Facilitating the availability of a liveaboard vessel as a floating platform for scientists to conduct valid research projects •Networking with the scientific community, universities and local community groups •Providing training and field experience opportunities for marine science students •Creating an interesting environmental education program for passengers •Providing a platform for underwater filming and producing quality marine film documentaries The outcomes of the research are generally practical and conservation driven, to make a positive change towards better environmental protection. Much of the time of the managers is spent on conservation issues and as members and consultants to important lobby groups and representative bodies.
