Everything is easier with Aqua Team. Our premises are spacious, comfortable and clean. Our veranda and large bench like (hand made) table is our pride and joy. Here you can beautifully spend many hours of your day. Our kitchen is always equipped with lots of cold and hot water as well as snacks. Our refrigerator is always at your disposal. The place is shady, cool and wind safe. Enjoy your coffee or refreshment with us, or relax with a good book in between your diving. The bathrooms and showers are available all day. In our shop you can also find clothes and accessories in summer colors. You can also find many diving gear items at great prices. We offer our diver friends the best possible service. Many large, clean and spacious storing spaces and special hangers with your name on them, for your equipment, and airy spaces for your wet gear to dry. Service area for solving problems, and good music. Let’s not forget the special water tanks for different parts of your equipment, the special baskets for drying the little things, and the large, shady and airy place for suits and BCDs. And let’s note at this point, that you’ll not have to carry anything around. If you ask to, you won’t even have to deal with your equipment. It will be there before your dive and at night, it will be clean and properly stored.
Our boat is an inflatable special made for diving 8m boat, its name is Aqua Dancer. It takes up to 12 divers with 24 tanks and can travel with a speed up to 35 knots. The engine is a diesel Yanmar 240 HP, silent and emision free. There is a wide platform just 20 cm over water on the stern with a big lader for easy entry and exit. The boat is equiped with all the needed equipment for safety and convenience, included 1st aid kit with oxygen. The boat is special made for our rough seas and the most of dive sites are no longer than 10 minutes from our dock. We always have on boat fresh water, refreshments and snacks. Our boat departs from Loutra Dock just 100 meters from our shop and entry and exit is very easy in it.
The first and probably most important dive site in Kythnos is Agios Sostis. It’s not just one of the most beautiful places on the island, but it’s also a gulf with seven different places to dive. The first spot is the Inner north Wall. Suitable for all level divers, it’s a dive by a wall that begins at the surface, close to the beach, and heads east reaching approximately -30 meters. A large number of small fish and beautiful scenery is the wall’s “trademark”. The countless colors hidden in the rocks need a torch to “show their face”. As we go deeper, we meet dusky and golden groupers and Mediterranean morays. In shallower waters, red mullets, large schools of damselfishes, spiral tube worms and beautiful star fish win your attention. The more observant divers will see octopuses, corals, common soles and leafy sea dragons. Moving eastward and turning to the left towards the end of the wall, and at about 30 meters depth, a second step marks the next dive site, the famous… abyss. At that point, the wall continues to the north, beyond -86 meters. A beautiful hanging balcony shows its face at -32 meters, hosting human constructions blended in by nature’s incomparable forces. Ropes, fishing nets, fishing lines and trotlines complete the breathtaking scenery that only experienced divers will be able to see. From -40 meters downwards, a negative gradient abrupt cliff appears, full of impressive colors, sponges, corals and marine plants; the scenery is not possible to describe. The balcony ends at about -50 meters and from there, the wall heads straight for the abyss. The marine life down there is what one expects. Huge dusky groupers and huge stone basses and Mediterranean morays in sizes not many have encountered. On our way back to shallower waters we meet a beautiful large red sponge, and may our friend Gogo the dusky grouper is around there somewhere.
The silent reef is our proud and joy. A reef in the middle of the blue, swarming with marine life. If the weather permits it, all level divers will be able to enjoy unique experiences. The number of fish to see is huge; black, white, red and any color you can imagine in any shape and size. The north side (the temple) reaches -100 meters, and large groupers prevail in-between the scattered amphorae. Manta rays and common denteces accompany us as we move south toward the large single rock. The dive then takes us towards the surface, but before we break it we swim with parrot fish, scorpion fish,
