Reef Gliders

West End, Roatan, Bay Islands, HONDURAS

(Dive Center)

Reef Gliders is a small PADI Gold Palm Resort located in the heart of the funky West End of Roatan. We are one of only two dive centers located on the water. We specialize in small group diving which means you can concentrate on discovering the amazing underwater life here on Roatan rather than looking out for other people’s fins! We make your safety our top priority which is why we were one of the first DAN Business Members in West End. We offer a full range of PADI courses from introductory dives right through to Divemaster. We dive 3 times a day and our fast boats allow us to do single-tank dives. This means that you can spend your surface interval on the comfort of dry land rather than on the confines of a boat! More than 70% of the world is covered by the oceans! Why aren’t you?

DIVE SITES:

West End Wall

A beautiful wall dive at the tip of the island. Here you will see the biggest schools of fish such as creole wrasse, bar jacks, yellowtail snapper, horse eyed jacks, permit and large barracuda. Keep an eye out for turtles, eagle rays and, if you are very luck, a hammerhead shark!

Spooky Channel

One of the signature dive sites of the West End & Sandy Bay Marine Park. Visibility can be very poor as you make your way through the large canyon that runs to the reef wall. Look up to see the rays of sunlight coming through the numerous holes in the huge overhangs. As you make your way through the dive visibility increases significantly until you find yourself on the wall surrounded by large grouper and baraccuda.

El Aguila Wreck

Sunk over 10 years ago, the Aguila now lies in 3 pieces (thanks to Hurricane Mitch in 1998) at exactly 100ft. The wreck is ideal for deep dives as it lies so close to the reef wall that you can finish your dive in the shallows exploring the swimthroughs and canyons which litter the reef in this region.
