Sharks Bay Umbi Diving Village has grown a lot from its origins in the early 80s but still manages to keep a friendly and personal approach to diving whilst only being ten minutes from the lights of Naama Bay. The Diving Village has a well-equipped dive centre, its own private jetty and a fleet of five boats. There is also a seafood restaurant, beach bar and a full range of water sports. The accommodation ranges from budget View Huts and Beach Cabins to the individually styled Bedouin Village. These rooms are built into the cliffside – all have sea views and most have balconies. Our private “walk-in” beach and beautiful house-reef is excellent for divers, snorkellers and swimmers alike. Learning to dive is a pleasure here, helped enormously by the roped-off training area which provides a safe confined area perfect for take your first breaths underwater. You come as a guest but leave as a friend.

This was amongst Jack Cousteau’s top ten dives sites and when you go there you will see why. The world famous wall is studded with stunning purple soft coral descends 800 metres into the. Big pelagic and schooling fish swim these reefs in their thousands and big sharks of many species can be seen in the blue.
The steep-sided walls of Jackson Reef are among the finest in the Sinai region; the current-swept reef has a profusion of luxuriant hard and soft corals. The fish life, not surprisingly, is excellent. The strong current brings plenty of nutrients for reef and schooling fish which in turn tempts the pelagic fish in from the blue.
The British Merchant Navy ship SS Thistlegorm was sunk in October 1941 by two German bombers. The explosion blew much of her mid-section away leaving the wreck and cargo - motorbikes, plane wings, armoured vehicles, Wellington boots and ammunition - accessible to divers. At around 30 meters there is no need for specialist equipment and training, although prevailing winds can make this dive inaccessible.
