Adam Powell is a Photographer and Artist with a primary interest in the Marine world. He has been involved in the Dive Industry, Marine Conservation and research for more than 20 years, during which he has been documenting and creating images of the marine environment and its inhabitants. Adam has an extensive portfolio of images from South East Asia including beautiful Reef and marine scenes, Fish and invertebrate species. Also pictures documenting, threats to reefs and conservation issues. As well as his portfolio of underwater photography Adam has created a number of collections inspired by the underwater world. “The marine world is an organic inspiration, a template for my own creativity “Adam says. Displayed at the Exhibition are Adam’s Pastels collection, and Oil Abstracts Collection. All Adams art images are based on Adam’s photographic images and have been computer manipulated to produce the effects. Also on display are photographic images of reef scenes and unusual marine creatures from around Indonesia and Asia. Images are Ink printed on Synthetic Canvas and can be displayed outside as well as inside. The material is weather resistant, This means they are a perfect complement to outdoor Patios, swimming pool environments, ponds and garden Features. Sizes are offered in 50cm, .100cm, 150cm and 200cm Formats, Internally wood framed with a 4cm depth, Commissions for alternative sizes, frames and materials can be made upon request. Adam will be donating 10% of Art sales for 2007 to the conservation efforts of Reef Check Indonesia. Coral Garden is Off Palau Hoga , Tukanbesi Islands in South Esat Sulawesi Indonesia, It must be one of the best night dives I've done in terms of reef enviroment, Topography is an 18m deep sand bowl with 3 sides of coral slope and one open to a deep wall, great for sleeping fish and critters
Suzie's bommie is off Loloata Island Resort ,Papua New Guinea. It is a pinnacle of the barrier reef and when conditions are good can easily be discribed as one off the best dives in PNG, Schools of Fusiliers envelope the pinnacle but a big school of sweetlips that ball up is the big attraction. we found plenty of Rhinopias there , Pygmys and bright red Leaf scorpias, Top Site, World class.
End Bommie is off Loloata Island Resort, PNG and safley must be crowned the Rhinopias capital of the world. Almost every dive is Rhino rich , ever colour has been seen, but blue! Again it is another pinnacle though this time attached to the main reef by a coral bridge with sand bowl to one side and deep water to the other. plenty of other critters too.
Tulamben wreck is one of Bali indonesia's most popular dives teaming with photo freindly fish and critters , its best to dive around the crowds, so stay there in Tulamben, go in Early for wide angle photography and switch to macro for later dives.There are many other good diver free sites near by to explore in peace.
