MANTA POINT Type: Rocky cliffs, shallow coastal reef Access: 1 hour by boat from Absolute Scuba Coral: Lots of leather corals and sponges Fish: Nurse sharks, reef fish, cleaner fish, nudibranchs, and Manta Rays Current: None to very mild. Ideal for all experience levels Visibility: 10 - 25m Note: Diveable throughout the year, best in the rainy season from September to April Highlight: MANTA RAYS!
CRYSTAL BAY Type: Sloping reefs, canyons, bat cave and walls Access: 40 minutes by boat from Absolute Scuba Coral: Very good variety and number of hard and soft coral Fish: Big variety of tropical reef fish and Oceanic Sunfish in season Current: Can be anything from mild to strong depending the moon. Not for the novice diver Visibility: 25 - 50m even in the rainy season Note: Can be combined with trips to Manta Point Highlight: Mola Mola Oceanic Sunfish cleaning station!
TEPEKONG Type: Small island, reef slopes and vertical walls, rock pillars and swim through Access: 15 minute by boat, north of Padang Bai on the east coast Coral: Excellent coverage of hard and soft coral Fish: Superb numbers. Schooling barracudas, turtles and much more. A good chance of seeing pelagic, species like manta ray and sun fish in season Current: Moderate to strong Visibility: 25m+ Note: Around full/new moon only for the experienced diver Highlight: Mola cleaning station
Type: Coastal reef, deep Drop-off and Liberty Ship Wreck Access: 1 hour by car. Dive directly from the beach, wreck is 30m off shore Coral: Good variety of hard and soft corals, ship wreck is completely covered, huge barrel sponges and large sea fans at the Drop-off Fish: High density, over 400 species live at the wreck, surgeon, rabbit fish welcome divers, big potato groupers live at the wreck, garden eel's Current: Non or very mild, easy dive site, perfect conditions for all divers
